Question :              

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state

(a) the number of airports under UDAN scheme opened in the State of Haryana;

(b) the amount of Viability Gap Funding provided to these airports till date;

(c) the new airports proposed under the scheme for the State of Haryana;

(d) the proposed date of operationalizing Ambala Airport along with details of
scheduled/unscheduled flights planned and cities proposed to be connected initially
with Ambala Airport; and

(e) the domestic air traffic from the State of Haryana during the last three years
including 2023, year-wise and airport-wise?

(a) : In the 2nd round of bidding under UDAN(Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik), Hisar
airport owned by the State Government of Haryana was identified for development
and operation of flights under Regional Connectivity Scheme. RCS flights
connecting Hisar with Chandigarh was commenced on 14.01.2021 by M/s Air Taxi
with the 3-seater aircraft. The routes connecting Hisar with Dharamshala and
Dehradun commenced on 08.02.2021. The flights were subsequently discontinued
by the operator from 01.08.2021 due to operational reasons.

(b) : An amount of Rs.66,21,669/- towards Viability Gap Funding (VGF) was
disbursed to the Selected Airline Operator for operation of the RCS flights. An
amount of Rs 37.81 cr has been spent on the development of Hisar Airport under
the Revival/Upgradation of Airports/heliports/water aerodromes

(c) & (d): During the 3rd round of bidding, Ambala airport owned by the IAF was
identified to operate RCS flights. Under UDAN 4.2 round of bidding, RCS routes
Ambala-Srinagar-Ambala was awarded to M/s FlyBig for operation of RCS flights
with 19 seater type of aircraft. An amount of Rs.25 Crore has been sanctioned for
development work of Civil Enclave at Ambala Airport, which is being undertaken
by the Government of Haryana.

(e) : A total of 182 RCS flights were operated connecting Hisar Airport from Feb
2021 to Aug 2021.
