Question:

Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased
to state:

(a) the number of candidates trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, year-wise and
State-wise details;

(b) the number of candidates who got employment post training period in the private sector;

(c) whether there is any provision for offering Government jobs to the trained candidates under this
scheme;

(d) if not, whether Government is planning to offer Government jobs to the candidates in the fourth
phase of the PMKVY; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been implementing Pradhan
Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) for delivering Skill, Re-Skill and Up-Skill courses to youth
of the country. The State-wise and year-wise number of candidates trained under Pradhan Mantri
Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) since 2015 to 31.12.2022 is given at Annexure.

(b) Under PMKVY, Skill training was imparted to candidates through Short Term Training (STT) and
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Certified candidates under STT were facilitated for job
opportunities, while RPL was not linked with placements as it recognized the existing skills of
candidates. Under PMKVY, public/private employment bifurcation of candidates have not been
maintained. Under PMKVY, since 2015 to 31.12.2022, 24.36 lakh certified candidates have been
reported placed.

(c) No, Sir.

(d) and (e) No, Sir. PMKVY 4.0 emphasis on increasing the employability of the candidates by
offering Industry Ready, Future Ready and Modern Skilling in various domains . The scheme also
focuses on new age and emerging courses such as Drone, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of
Things (IoT), 3D Printing, Block Chain, Mechatronics, Robotics etc.
